Pinot Noir also called Pinot Nero in Italy or „Spätburgunder“ in Germany belongs to the very best red grape varieties on earth. World wide about 87.000 hectares are planted with Pinot Noir. As Pinot  is known to be moody, delicate and challenging as well in the vineyard as in the cellar, it´s often called “the diva” among the red grape varieties. Nevertheless, to produce a really good Pinot Noir is the dream of most ambitious winemakers. With about 12.000 ha Pinot Noir is the most important red grape variety in Germany and Germany is the third biggest Producer of this grape variety world-wide!
